Artist's Biography
David Payne is best known as a painter of landscapes.
He worked and exhibited extensively in the north of England.
Like his friend and mentor, George Turner, he specialised in capturing the soft light of Derbyshire and Yorkshire.
This is a fine example of his work dating from 1874.“
